Psychiatry Evidence Base is an independent digital scientific journal devoted to evidence-based psychiatry. It grew out of a simple observation: no clinician can read, appraise and absorb, alone, everything the literature publishes in a week.
To become the French-language reference for evidence-based psychiatry. In time, we want the first reflex in front of a clinical question to be: let us see what PEB says about it.
Our values
Every piece must be one you can cite with confidence.
Every claim rests on an identifiable body of literature, and its limits are discussed.
The interest of the patient and of the clinician comes before commercial interests.
Selection methods made public, conflicts of interest declared, corrections visible.
Accessible without being simplistic.
No study is accepted without appraisal, not even in the largest journals.
How an analysis gets here
- 1Scanning
A daily sweep of the literature, ranked. A study is never picked because it is recent, but because it can change practice.
- 2Critical appraisal
Design, population, effect size, confidence intervals, bias, funding, external validity. Nothing is summarised without being appraised.
- 3Score
The PEB Score, version 1.1, crosses a scientific score with an editorial score on a matrix. The scientific score carries a floor: below it, no editorial value redeems the study.
- 4Publication
The analysis joins a collection and enters the internal link graph of the site. Practice guidelines follow another path: they are rated domain by domain with the AGREE II instrument.
Not a medical news site, not an opinion blog, not a promotional platform, not an aggregator. Every piece adds something of its own: interpreting the data with rigour, critical thinking and intellectual honesty.
